A Christmas Story

When filling out your audition application, please list any known conflicts. Conflicts, outside of the weeks of performances, will not exclude you from casting. Having this information just helps us create rehearsal schedules.
AUDITION FORM
​​The Story: Humorist Jean Shepherd's memoir of growing up in the Midwest in the 1940s follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker in his quest to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun under the tree for Christmas. Ralphie pleads his case before his mother, his teacher and even Santa Claus himself. The consistent response: "You'll shoot your eye out!"  
Details: Performances will be December 9, 10, 15, 16 & 17 at 7pm and December 11 & 18 at 2pm. Performances will take place at the Webb Theatre on the campus of St. Norbert College.  Rehearsals will begin Monday, October 11 at 6:30 and run Mondays - Thursdays, 6:30 - 8:30. Additional rehearsals may be scheduled closer to opening night. There will be no rehearsals on Halloween, Thanksgiving, and weekends, except for tech weekends. Tech rehearsals will begin the afternoon of December 4. 

Auditions will consist of cold readings from selected scenes from the script.
All characters, with the exception of Randy, should be able to pass as 12 years of age. Randy should be able to pass as 9 to 10 years of age. Adult roles for parents should be no older than 50 years of age. Teacher can be 21+.
​ The role of Adult Ralphie has already been cast. 

All auditions are held at Evergreen's rehearsal space located at 1662 Morrow St, Green Bay

Esther Jane Alberry – Ralphie's classmate
Helen Weathers – Ralphie's classmate
Scut Farkas – Neighborhood bully; actor also plays Black Bart
Dill – Sidekick to Farkas, repeats Farkas's lines
Santa Claus – Adult role, Bad Santa type
