Community Works

Picture
Community Works Auditions: Thursday, August 28; 5-6pm
Auditions will be held at Evergreen's rehearsal space. No need to prepare anything for auditions. Those auditioning will be given a short script and assigned a part to read with others.

This time we will doing the Community Works Troupe a little differently. Actors will be divided into groups by ages and skill level. Each group will work on one or more 10-20 minutes skit through the month of September. Rehearsals will be every Tuesday and Thursday in September, beginning September 4. Rehearsals will run from 5pm-6:30pm. At the beginning of October, groups are expected to know their scenes well enough to perform for the community. Parents and young actors are asked to commit to performing their skits through the end of the year though we anticipate the last performances being around the second week of December.

Young  actors should still be able to audition for The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, if they want to do so. Rehearsals for Best will begin September 22 which is when they will work on carol singing. You should be sure to put your final 3 rehearsals for Community Works on your audition form for Best so the director is aware.

We are expecting groups to be rotating performances so no actor will have to be at a performance every week. Most performances will be on the weekends. However, we will have performances that will be at afterschool programs which will be at 4:30 on a Monday-Thursday.

If you wish to participate in the Community Works Troupe and cannot attend auditions or have a scheduling conflict with the rehearsal days, please contact Tricia Adams at [email protected]. There may be a possibility of a Wednesday or Monday group, depending on the number of people interested in those days.

This time we will be focusing on Halloween and holiday skits as well as some short fables and possibly some monologues.
