Summer Classes 2026

This page contains descriptions of all of the classes offered this summer. To learn more about how classes work and the cost, click the button below. When you've decided what classes you want to register for, click on the registration button to sign up for the classes and pay online. Remember not to sign up for more than one class per time slot, per week, per student. If a class you would like to register for is full, we have a waitlist at the bottom of this page that you can sign up for in case a space opens up.

WRITING TRACK
WRITING: ONE ACTS

Join professional, published author Erin Kelsey and learn the art of writing a one-act play. Students will learn about writing dialogue, character development, and story arch. 
Class Limit :12 students
ART / CRAFT TRACK
DYING & TEXTILE ART 
​3rd grade+

Instructor: Ellah Komp
Break out the tie die. Students will learn how to color fabric and fibers with different dyes while creating a keepsake bag and felt ornament.

ACTING TRACK
MONOLOGUES FOR COLLEGE AUDITIONS

Learn to think on your feet and play off others through games and exercises in this class that is sure to tickle your funny bone.

​IMAGINARY PLAY

Get your creativity flowing with this unique acting class for our youngest players. Using fables and fairy tales, students will bring their imagination to life through acting and storytelling.

MOVEMENT TRACK
STAGE COMBAT l: SWORDPLAY
4th grade+

Grab a sword or lightsaber and learn the art of fight choreography with weapons. Learn how to stay safe while swashbuckling on stage.

PERFORMANCE / FESTIVAL ARTS TRACK
BALLOON ART & FACE PAINTING * This class has been cancelled - keep an eye out for workshops on these topics in the fall/winter

Tigers to butterflies, sharks to flowers learn to create some of the most interesting things in this class. Students will have two days of learning balloon tying and twisting and two days of face painting.
Class Limit: 12 Students
ART / CRAFT TRACK
UNDER THE SEA
​K-6th grades

​Instructor: Tricia Adams
Dolphins, seahorses, mermaids. Who does love a trip under the sea? Students will explore these creatures and more as they work with different mediums to create several decorative items based on life below the ocean surface.
​Class Limit: 10 Students
ACTING TRACK
ACTING 1: FOUNDATIONS
​2nd-6th grades

​Instructor: Bonnie Kirschman
Feet angled and slightly apart, hands out of your pockets, head up, face forward. Through exercises and scene work, students will develop the foundations of good acting that they will build on for the rest of their acting career.
​Class Limit: 12 Students
MUSIC TRACK
CHORUS
​3rd grade+

​Instructor: April Strom Johnson

Learn to read music and understand your part when singing as part of a large group. This class will focus on the chorus rather than the soloist and help students learn to harmonize and work together to create a cohesive sound. 
Class Limit: 15 Students
MOVEMENT TRACK
STAGE COMBAT ll: Hand to Hand
6th grade+

Right hook, upper cut, hip throw, pratfall. Fighting and falling on stage is more choreography and dance than fists and trips. Learn to do it safely and convincingly in this unique hands-on class.

You're not talking to yourself, it's a monologue! Students will learn to think out loud as they write and learn to perform their own monologues.

ACTING ll: TECHNIQUE

It's not just about what you say but how you say it. Through exercises and scene work, students will build on their acting foundation by refining their technique to learn the subtleties and nuances of acting .

THEATER GAMES

This class is part improv and part acting prep. Students will play a variety of games aimed at improving their focus, quick thinking, and teamwork skills.

Yes, and?  From finishing each other's stories to jumping into the middle of a scene. Students will learn a variety of skills and get their creativity flowing in this fast-paced class that's always a huge hit.

ART / CRAFTS
ARTISTIC ACCESSORIES
​3rd grade+

Instructor: Tricia Adams

A 1920s feathered flapper headband or a 1960s bangle bracelet. Students will use their creativity, along with numerous materials and techniques to make their own accessories

WRITING TRACK
DUNGEONS & DRAMA: CREATING A FANTASY CHARATER
3rd grade+
5:40-6:40
Instructor: Dan Szymanski

Love sci-fi and fantasy? Want to create your own character for role-playing games, writing, or drawing? This is the class for you. Learn the history and mythology necessary when creating a character that has real depth and dimension that you can bring to life.

PERFORMANCE / FESTIVAL ART TRACK
JUGGLING, UNICYCLE, & CIRCUS ARTS
4th grade+
​5:40-6:40
Instructor: Jake the Juggler & the Green Bay Juggling Club

Balls, scarves, feathers, diabolos, devil sticks, rola bolas, and unicycles. This is the ultimate performance class. Learn balance, concentration, timing, and showmanship through juggling, unicycling, and other circus arts.

MOVEMENT TRACK
DANCE l
K-5th grades

Instructor: Carrie Counihan
Learning to understand rhythm and timing is essential to dance and choreography. This class lets kids starts early by learning basic dance techniques and simple choreography, allowing students to create the music and dance  foundation that they will use in any Broadway musical or dance recital.

ART / CRAFT TRACK
FOREVER FOOD
2nd grade+

Instructor: Tricia Adams

Sometimes, things just have to look good. Whether it's food for a play,  photoshoot, or dollhouse, fake food isn't about the taste. Using unconventional, non-edible materials, students will create several eye-appealing food items.

ACTING TRACK
VILLAINOUS ACTING 
3rd grade+

What does Plankton from The Sponge Bob Musical and Heather Chandler from Heathers The Musical have in common? They're both villains. Playing the villain can be lots of fun but it can also be tricky. It's not just being mad and shouting. Learn the subtleties of playing the bad guy in this class.

Dreams of a solo on Broadway? It's not just about belting it out. It's also about showmanship. Through selections of Broadway hits, students will focus on their voice as well as the performance aspect of musical theater.

DANCE ll
3rd grade+

Instructor: Carrie Counihan
Rhythm, timing , choreography, and showmanship - all are essential to a great dance piece. In this class, students will learn to put it all together through high-intensity music and challenging steps. A review of the basics will be included for anyone new to dance.

ACTING TRACK
ANIMAL INSTINCTS
2nd grade+

How does a giraffe move differently from a lion? Are you playing the part of an animal that has animal or human characteristics? These are just a few of the topics that will be focused on in Animal Instincts. Through games, exercises, and scene work, students will learn to play a wide variety of animals. This is a great companion class for anyone auditioning for The Lion King this summer.

ACTING TRACK
ACTING lll: SCRIPTS & CHARACTERS
6th grade+

You've got the foundations and the technique but now it's time to analyze the script and work on developing the character. Through exercises and intensive scene work, students will learn to become their character, not just "ACT" like them.

ACTING TRACK
READER'S THEATER
3rd grade+

Instructor: Jennifer Harkins
Reader's Theater not only helps students improve their fluency but also helps them learn to portray emotions with just their voice and face. Reader's theater helps students learn essential skills that transfer to all acting disciplines, dance, and even musical performances. Reader's theater also helps build essential storytelling skills.

ART / CRAFT TRACK
BUDDING ARTISTS
K-3rd grades

Instructor: Tricia Adams
Got a little creative one? This is the perfect class for them to explore that creativity through a variety of mediums. Using paints, clays, and a wide variety of other materials, young artists will get to bring their imaginations to life on canvas, paper, and in 3D.

MAGIC
3rd grade+

​Instructor: Michael "gizmo" Gegare

Want to watch me pull a rabbit out of a hat? Okay, so you might not learn that trick in this class but you are sure to learn several others to fool and delight your friends and family. Showmanship and slight of hand take center stage in this class.

ART / CRAFT TRACK
CREATURE CREATIONS
3rd+
5:40-6:40
Instructor: Carlie Petersen
Maybe you've developed all of the characteristics of your fantasy character in the Dungeons & Drama class or you have a scary monster lurking in your stories. This is your chance to create that character in 3D. Students will learn various sculpting and building techniques in the hands-on class.

MOVEMENT TRACK

Instructor: Elaine Mannion
Designed for students with more dance experience, this class focuses on technique and complex choreography. Haven't been in a dance class since you  were 3? No problem. Everyone can take part in this class and gain some experience on the dance floor.

ACTING TRACK
SPROUT SPOTLIGHT * This class has been cancelled
Pre K - Kindergarten

​Instructor: Sherrill Revolinski
Preschoolers and Kindergartners start to learn storytelling and acting skills by using their imagination to tell and act out fables and fairy tales. Students will also make simple puppets and masks to use in their storytelling. This class combines arts/crafts & beginning acting/storytelling.

ACTING TRACK
VOICE & DICTION
5th grade+

Getting a speaking role is a lot easier when you can be heard and understood. In this class, students will learn several techniques to help them speak clearly and loudly when on stage. Projection is just part of the equation. This class will add in enunciation and diction as well.

MUSIC TRACK
​FEEL THE BEAT
K-3rd grades

Instructor: Jennifer Harkins
Find the beat and feel the rhythm in this hands-on music making class for young actors and musicians. Students will work with simple instruments such as tambourines and maracas to learn about some of the basics of music while they follow along with recorded songs and create their own music. 
​Class Limit: 10 Students 

Costume & Makeup Workshop: July 20-24 

****This class is currently full - you may sign up for the waitlist. Additional workshops on this topic will be held in the fall.****
Join Evergreen July 20-24 for a week-long workshop to learn the ins and outs of sewing, costume and makeup design. In the sewing portion, students will learn how to thread and use a sewing machine while sewing their own projects. In the costume design portion, students will research styles and historical clothing. And in the makeup portion, students will learn how to age someone with makeup as well as create bloody scars. This is a week-long course, meeting daily from 9am-3pm.
Ages 10 +
