Adults: November 17 & 18; 6:30 - 8:30pm
            Young Actors: November 24 & 25; 4:30 - 6:15pm

PLEASE NOTE: When filling out your audition application, please list any known conflicts. Conflicts, outside of the weeks of performances, will not exclude you from being cast. This information is needed to create rehearsal schedules.

The Details:
Auditions will be held at Evergreen's rehearsal space located at
​1662 Morrow St, Green Bay.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the provided script.  Those auditioning are asked to prepare about 20 bars of a Broadway or pop ballad song. A verse and chorus is enough. Contact the  director, Jeremy Pelegrin with any questions or to schedule a private audition. [email protected]​

Rehearsals:
Rehearsals will begin December 1 and run Sundays - Wednesdays, 6:45 - 9:00pm; young actors will be finished by 8pm each night. There will be no rehearsal December 23 - 27, December 31, and January 1.
​Two Saturday rehearsals may be added in January, if needed.

The Story:
​
Rodgers & Hammerstein's final collaboration and one of the world’s most beloved musical, this inspirational story is based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp . It's Austria, 1938, and a widower,  Captain Von Trapp, hires an exuberant young governess to teach and look after his seven children. Maria is a breath of fresh air and brings music and joy back the broken family. As the Nazis rise to power, Captain von Trapp disagrees with many of their policies and ideologies. But as war seems eminent, the von Trapp family must decide if they will accept Nazi rule or flee the country they love.

Max Detweiler: Male; aged 30 - 50; Friend of the von Trapp family; theatrical agent and First Secretary of Education and Culture; charming, witty, but can be pushy; vocal range: F4 to D3; vocal technique: legit

Elsa Schrader: Female; aged 35 - 45; Wealthy widow who runs her late husband's corporation; elegant and sophisticated but also clever and canny; vocal range: mezzo soprano F5 to D4; vocal technique: legit

Mother Abbess: Female; aged 40+; Inspirational leader for all the nuns at the Abby; big-hearted mother figure, loved, adored and respected but with a bit of hidden spunk; vocal range: soprano G#5/Ab 5 to B3; vocal technic: legit. operatic

Sister Bertha: Female; aged 30+; Nun & Mistress of Novices; no nonsense and very strict; self-righteous, straight-laced, prim, and a bit of a prude; vocal range: alto E5 to C4

Sister Margaretta: Female; aged 20+; Nun & Mistress of Postulants; kind, understanding, positive, encouraging, concerned  but has a sense of humor; vocal range mezzo E5 to B3; vocal technique: legit
 
Sister Sophia: Female; aged 30+; Nun; dutiful and kind; would rather take the middle road to avoid controversy; vocal range: soprano E5 to B3; vocal technique: legit

Liesl von Trapp: Female; aged 16; Eldest of the von Trapp children; innocent, naïve, flirtatious, headstrong; infatuated with Rolf; has a maternal edge & cares deeply for her siblings; vocal range: mezzo E5 to B3; vocal technique: legit

Friedrich von Trapp: Male; aged 14; Eldest male von Trapp sibling and proud of it; has a tough exterior & tries to be "the man" of the family; desperately needs his father; vocal range: G5 to C4;  vocal technique: legit

Louisa von Trapp: Female; aged 13; Von Trapp sibling; clever & full of mischief; quite a tomboy with a rebellious attitude; and misses her mother very much; vocal range: G5 to C4; vocal technique: legit

Kurt von Trapp: Male; aged 10; Von Trapp sibling; often tries to act manly; outspoken against the previous governesses; gentle peacemaker; vocal range: falsetto G5 to C4;  vocal technique: yodeling, legit

Brigitta von Trapp: Female; aged 9; Von Trapp sibling; smart as a whip, very perceptive, and always tells the truth; avid reader and suspicious of “Uncle Max”; vocal range: G5 to C4; vocal technique: legit

Marta von Trapp: Female; aged 7; Von Trapp sibling; one of the quietest Von Trapps; loves the color pink; very inquisitive, smart, and gentle; vocal range: G5 to C4; vocal technique: legit

Gretl von Trapp: Female; aged 5; Youngest von Trapp sibling; quiet, sweet, loving; wants attention; vocal range: G5 to C4

Rolf Gruber: Male; aged 17; Telegram delivery boy & friend of Liesl; self important, boasting but pleasant young man; can't wait to join the Nazi regime; vocal range: low tenor E5 to C4; vocal technique: legit

Franz: Male; aged 30+; non-singing; In the Navy with Captain von Trapp but now a valet; efficient, humorless and appears harmless; secretly plotting with the Nazi party
 
Frau Schmidt: Female; aged 40+; non-singing; Von Trapp family housekeeper; efficient and reliable but not affectionate towards family; strong, somewhat dominating; hates being called with whistles
 
Herr Zeller: Male; aged 40+; non-singing; District governor appointed by the Nazis; overbearing, arrogant, autocratic, self-important, and pompous; typical Nazi official whose primary concern is to see that everyone falls in line
